48 HOURS OF MADNESS

The ultimate team filmmaking challenge…

Tired, spent and completely exhilarated is how filmmakers will feel when, after “48 Hours of

Madness”, they gather to view their creations on the BIG screen at 2pm on Saturday,

February 2, at the Frauenthal Theatre for Performing Arts.

This competition is open to any filmmaking team – five people per team maximum. Only 30

teams are allowed in the competition – the first 30 to register. The cost is $50 per team.

On Thursday, January 31, at 10am, teams are emailed the identical 3-5 page script. Each

team’s challenge is to interpret the script (complete re-writes and dialogue changes are

allowed and encouraged) and use any genre in a 5-minute film, BUT must still tell the same

story. All films must be turned in by 10am, Saturday, February 2, to the Frauenthal Theater

for Performing Arts. If an entry is turned in after 10am, for every 5 minutes late, one (1)

point will be deducted from the overall judge’s score.

During the screening on Saturday, February 2, a panel of judges will score each entry on

the following parameters: 40% on script interpretation, 25% on creative excellence, 25%

on production excellence and 10% on overall impact. Following a break after the screenings

to tally the judge’s scores, awards will be given to the top 3 highest scoring teams.

Additional information and entry forms can be obtained at
